The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include getting rid of any clutter or toys it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is depleted it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its dirt into the station's external dustbin and then resumes cleaning where it started. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or through the app.

In our tests the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with amazon robot vacuum Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot vacuum cleaner to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes.
