WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which will display an item level upgrade (i thought about this)'s preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item upgrade level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item upgrader mod has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. Another significant modification is that crests have one use, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner.
